Celebrating its third year at the time, the Capital City Film Festival had creative help from an agency in the Lansing area. But it didn’t have a designer to help with day-to-day design needs, one on call to step in on a moment’s notice.
When quick turnaround mattered most, my connections to the small team running the film festival proved that design can be good, fast, and affordable.
With the team pulling together sponsorship levels against a deadline, I used my design skills to quickly adapt step & repeat backdrops and signage files on a daily basis, making sure the team always had up-to-date visuals.
And when a last-minute partnership with Adams Outdoor (4th largest outdoor advertising operator in the US) was inked for outdoor digital signage across Michigan, I sprang into action, pulling together bold visuals that would catch the eye of passing motorists and inspire interest.
Quickly adapting to a multitude of sizes and formats, I also created a unique poster for a live band performing on the opening night of the festival. The team was ecstatic and the show went on without a hitch.
